MORE INFORMATION
Cirque du Soleil’s most enchanting arena show is back in North America and heading to Kingston, ON, to charm audiences once more. This festive and theatrical production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, was performed for the first time in Montreal in April 2005 and made its Kingston premiere in 2018. Five years since first dazzling Kingstonians and regional audiences, Corteo has added two new awe-inspiring acts that have never been combined: The Korean Cradle and the Trampo-Net (a combination of trampoline and safety net). Corteo, presented by Sun Life Global Investments.
“The multidimensional world and two-sided stage that Corteo is imagined, offers a new perspective and unique experience each time you see the show,” said Alison Crawford, Artistic Director, Corteo. “The stage plays a central role in dividing the venue into two sides with each half of the audience facing the other half, giving a unique perspective to the audience and the performers. It’s a one-of-a-kind atmosphere for an arena show that is unlike any other Cirque du Soleil production.”
Corteo, which means cortege in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. Combining acrobatic feats, comedy and acting, the show plunges spectators into a theatrical world of fun and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.

ABOUT CORTEO
Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, Corteo highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the share of humanity within each of us. In a carnival atmosphere, the clown pictures his own funeral taking place, watched over by quietly caring angels.
The set design features central curtains measuring 58ft high – the largest in North America – that were hand painted to give a grandiose feel to the stage. This sets the tone for the poetry of Corteo. Complemented by original music that is sometimes lyrical, sometimes playful, Corteo is a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.
Since its creation, Corteo has dazzled more than 10 million people, in 20 countries on 4 continents.
